SKYLOTEC will take over SECUPOHL, a major manufacturer of permanent fall protection systems and the original inventor of individual anchor points on roofs, known under the SECURANT® brand, on 1 September 2022 and will position itself even more strongly as a full-range supplier in the future. In this way, the family-owned company is consolidating its position as the German market leader for fall protection systems.
In the year of its 75th anniversary, SKYLOTEC, one of the world's leading manufacturers of fall protection systems, continues its growth course and acquires SECUPOHL per 1 September 2022. The manufacturer of permanent fall protection systems is part of the Pohl DWS group of companies based in Düren, Germany, known for its main product SECURANT®. This was the original invention of the single anchor point in 1973.
Through the acquisition, SKYLOTEC takes over the product and manufacturing rights, patents, approvals and employees, among other things. As a result, the German family-owned company will in future offer a complete range that, in addition to vertical and horizontal fall protection and access systems using cable and rail systems with all types of individual anchor points, places a strong focus on fall protection on roofs. This also includes guardrail systems as collective fall protection systems. “Until now, we were not sufficiently established and known as a manufacturer for engineered systems. That is now changing,” says Dr. Kai Rinklake, owner and CEO of SKYLOTEC. “We continue to pursue the goal of developing into a leading global manufacturer in the field of engineered systems. Therefore, this acquisition is a logical and consistent step for SKYLOTEC, with which we are sending a strong signal to the market.”
Optimal solution for every area of application
From the combination of the product ranges in the horizontal and vertical areas, users can choose the optimal solution for the respective area of application. In addition, customers can rely on high-quality products “Made in Europe” with reliable and short supply chains. “The core competencies of SECUPOHL and SKYLOTEC are a perfect symbiosis of market access and manufacturing know-how for us,” says Rinklake. As a manufacturer of a wide variety of protective equipment, SKYLOTEC has 75 years of experience in development and production. With the acquisition of SECUPOHL, the group of companies has now gained further expertise through a team that is optimally positioned for sales to roofers, installers and other customers. “This puts us in an even more powerful and attractive position for our customers in the field of engineered systems,” says Rinklake.
